Remove the two wires from the switch and and install a paper clip into both wires this will tell the system that the stand is up. This will also tell you that if the unit runs that the switch itself is bad at that point take electrical tape and rap the wires and order a new switch.

I bypassed my clutch safety switch with a paperclip and some electric tape too. Never effected cruise or anything else. Yeah, I've cranked mine a few times in gear. At least it never started and ran off/over on me. (Yet) Just take it down and put a piece a wire down into both slots. Tape it up.

The seat switch bypasses the transmission switch and the pto switch with the operator on the seat and sends 12 volts to the X terminal on the ignition switch on a gray wire. With the ignition switch in the RUN position this 12 volts comes out the Y terminal and on to the isolation relay on probably another yellow wire.

I had a faulty clutch safety switch in an older camaro once and had the exact issue. To diagnose the switch, I simply removed it, put a jumper wire similar to this between the contacts, then re-installed and turned the key. It started fine and I knew I had to replace the switch.
